About The Speaker

As the original employee of a local computer company that has expanded to >100 employees with product in 24 countries around the world, Chuck Smith was a member of the Williamson County Board of Education for ten years and served as the chairman for the last four years.

Leading your community through times of great change is a real test of leadership skills.  Chuck led the fastest growing school system in Tennessee as well as transitioning the system from an elected Superintendent of Schools to an appointed Director.  Getting parents, teachers, taxpayers without children in school as well as other elected officials to pursue a common goal that is good for all can only be done through constant communications and bringing out the leadership skills of all.

Speech Topics:

Leadership - Leaders are not born, but made.  Chuck teaches leadership skills and is convinced everyone can lead if given a chance and the tools to succeed.  Leadership, through both good and bad times, is the key to continued success.  Most people are never given the opportunity to lead or are scared to try.  Through positive persuasion, feedback and mentoring, great things can come out of everyone.

Public Service - It's one thing to complain about the politicians, but it's quite another to really serve your community and be a successful making the area better. You too can serve your community, but Chuck can teach you some shortcuts to get more done in a short amount of time.

Christmas Lights - Chuck loves computerized Christmas lights.   "...revered as the granddaddy of digital Christmas displays"  by the New York Times, he loves to teach others about the incredible magic Christmas lights.  Check out www.planetchristmas.com
