About The Speaker

A storyteller who compels her listeners to live in a one another world Karen is a freelance graphic artist by trade and a storyteller by heart.  She shares stories about growing up in a family of seven in a multi-ethnic neighborhood in her presentation, "Growing Up Davis."  "The Sycamore Tales" are stories and lessons Karen's father experienced growing up in the hills of Tennessee in the 1920s and 1930s.  You will laugh out loud at some of the antics of B.L. and Milt in Luther Hollar.  Her family spent every summer at her Grandpa's farm in Tennessee.  Their tales of fun and adventure are part of the message of Karen's presentation: "Lessons from Grandpa's Well."  July 28, 1998 was one of the most difficult days in Karen's life.  "What a Pain!" is Karen's retelling the final months of her brother's life.  You will laugh, you will be filled with nostalgia, you may cry a tear or two, but you will most definitely be compelled to live in a one another world after experiencing the storytelling of Karen Anita Davis.
